What is Food For Health?
AHF’s Food for Health and Broward House joined together to help address some of the needs of the families reporting food insecurities in Broward County.
Wellness begins with having your basic needs met, including the food you eat. Together, AHF and Broward House are providing a pathway to wellness, starting with access to healthy food.

Holiday Fun!
Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without a Turkey on the table. Our Food for Health Pantry provided 250 turkeys to individuals and families experiencing food insecurities.
In addition to the turkeys and fresh produce, our shoppers were also able to pick-up other Thanksgiving Dinner staples, including: stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, and macaroni and cheese.
Food for Health: An Overview
Eating a healthy and balanced diet is important for maintaining overall good health. A healthy diet includes a variety of different types of food from all the food groups, in the right amounts. It is important to choose foods that are rich in nutrients, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, and to limit foods that are high in added sugars, saturated and trans fats, and sodium. By paying attention to what we eat and drink, we can support our bodies and minds, and improve our overall well-being.
