What is MEGA?
High impact prevention, education, and outreach to gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning men ages 18-30. We strive to provide effective education and support to prevent substance abuse, HIV, and other STDs. Our services include intervention case management, support groups, individual counselling, and testing for HIV and HEP C.
Broward House realized from inception that the basic need of shelter is vital for all individuals. Each person we serve is prepared for a different level of housing. We create a home for individuals in a licensed Assisted Living facility, Transitional Housing, Broward House Owned Apartments and Scattered Apartments throughout the county. In every situation, we have staff who work to ensure the clients are safe and are able to maintain maximum independence.
Broward House provides mental health services through our Positive Healing Program. The Positive Healing Program recognizes the link between mental well being and immune system performance and supports individual goals for healing of mind, body and spirit.
Broward House recognizes our communities great need for prevention. Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) currently ranks number two in the nation, logging the 2nd highest number of new AIDS cases per capita in the United States. Florida ranks 3rd in the nation in the number of persons living with AIDS. We are working to change these facts through education, awareness, creative intervention and testing
Broward House recognizes the challenge of navigating they system of health care and social services. We have case managers with different skills sets to best meet the needs of the clients. Services included community based and home based case management, as well intensive strength based case management supporting access thorough accompanying individuals to appointments.
