What is MEGA?

High impact prevention, education, and outreach to gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning men ages 18-30.  We strive to provide effective education and support to prevent substance abuse, HIV, and other STDs. Our services include intervention case management, support groups, individual counselling, and testing for HIV and HEP C.

MEGA Mixers

We offer bi-monthly social groups and activities, along with larger monthly community events.

Substance Abuse

We Link or provide individuals with residential substance abuse treatment, day treatment, or outpatient substance abuse counseling and recovery supports.

We believe that each individual deserves a better life, and will work with individuals through the recovery process with the understanding that change is possible.

Individual Counseling

Counseling with an emphasis on prevention and helping individuals to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Helps individuals address issues associated with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and relationship problems; stress management; self-esteem; and LGBTQ issues.

Intervention Case Management

MEGA recognizes the challenge of navigating the health care system and social service organizations as well as the importance of support.  We have a multi-faceted case management team to support individuals in connecting with life-saving and enhancing services.

Services include, but are not limited to: assessments, problem and opportunity identification, decreasing at-risk behaviours, referrals, linkage, accessing and accompanying individuals to medical appointments and continuous monitoring to ensure individual progress.
