What’s Their Why? Why Restaurants Show Up for Dining Out For Life.

Mar 2, 2026 | PROMISE Stories

At Broward House, we often ask our team a simple question. What’s your why?

It is a question worth asking, because when you know why, your work has purpose.

As we prepare for Dining Out For Life 2026, we have been thinking about that same question for our restaurant partners. What is their why?

For more than three decades, Broward House has worked to improve the quality of life for individuals in Broward County affected by HIV and other chronic health challenges through safe housing, healthcare coordination, behavioral health support, prevention education, and direct connection to care. We empower individuals not only to survive, but to thrive. But none of this work happens alone, it is through partnership, fueled by the community, and made possible by those who choose to stand with us.

Dining Out For Life is one of the most meaningful examples of what community partnership looks like in action. On Thursday, March 5, 2026, local restaurants in Broward County will open their doors not just to serve great food, but to serve a greater purpose. A portion of proceeds from that day will directly support Broward House’s programs and the clients we serve.

This year, we are proud to partner with an incredible group of returning and new restaurants:

  • Apt 9F
  • Batch Southern Kitchen & Tap
  • Burgers & Beers
  • Cafe Seville
  • Cake Daddy
  • Caruso & Courtyard Cafe
  • D’Liras
  • Eagle Wilton Manors
  • Georgie’s Alibi Monkey Bar
  • Gym Sports Bar
  • Hunters Night Club
  • Java Joes
  • Over Easy Cafe
  • Papa Duke’s Deli
  • Rosie’s Bar & Grill
  • Sardi Peruvian Cuisine
  • Storks Bakery
  • Tap That …
  • The Pub Wilton Manors
  • The Well Bar
  • Tropics Grille
  • Tulio’s Tacos & Tequila bar
  • Union Kitchen & Bar

Each of these businesses has its own story, its own community. Yet they are united by something far more powerful than industry or brand. They share a belief in showing up. Showing up for neighbors. Showing up for those most vulnerable. Showing up when it matters most.

For some, their why is personal. For others, it is about giving back to the community that supports their business year-round. For many, it is about standing alongside an organization that has been part of the fabric of Broward County for decades.

Food brings people together. It creates conversation. It creates comfort. It creates connection. Dining Out For Life takes something we all do every day and turns it into impact.

Funds raised on March 5 will support housing stability, medical care coordination, behavioral health counseling, prevention services, and access to essential resources for individuals and families navigating complex health challenges. Every meal, every drink, every dessert served that day is more than nourishment, it is hope served with intention and impact.

Community Makes the Difference

Dining Out for Life is a reminder that meaningful change often begins locally. It begins when restaurants open their doors with purpose. When diners choose to participate with intention. When businesses and nonprofits come together around shared values.

We are deeply grateful to every restaurant that said YES. Yes to partnership. Yes to community. Yes to being part of something bigger than one day. So when we ask, what’s their why, the answer is simple. It’s about Community, Compassion. Commitment.

Together, we continue building a Broward County where care is accessible, support is strong, and every person has the opportunity to thrive.
